Bob Merritt is a founding partner of Convergent Semiconductors, LLC.  He is a 25year veteran of semiconductor and communications markets. Starting in the semiconductor industry as a sales engineer for Intel, Mr. Merritt subsequently held senior executive positions in marketing and operations at major semiconductor memory companies.

Mr. Merritt has provided custom research and critical product guidance to several established semiconductor and PC companies on topics such as cellular phones, analog and RF manufacturing processes, PC architectural trends, and advanced memory technologies.  He has published reports and presentations on the topic to conferences and boards of directors.  He has worked in the startup company environment and is uniquely knowledgeable regarding new memory product market-drivers and the challenges in taking such a product into production.  Published reports include trends in PC memory controllers, chipsets, graphics accelerators, embedded memory, and advanced memory technologies such as MRAM and Phase-Change memory.
His consulting experience is international, including the World Bank to provide insight to investment required for packaging memory and other semiconductors for the country of Malaysia.  


Bob is published and quoted in all the major semiconductor industry publications.  He provides seminars on the semiconductor industry at all technical knowledge levels for executives seeking an enhanced understanding of the industry and its practices.  He was previously under contract to EDN to write a bi-weekly blog on advanced and new memory technologies under the title “Professor Memory,” and continues to write under Convergent Semiconductors blog site.

Sherry L. Garber is a founding partner of Convergent Semiconductors.  She has over 25 years of semiconductor experience with industry knowledge that includes program management, manufacturing, R&D at the systems level, strategic marketing, international business management and customer service.  She is a renowned authority in semiconductor memories.


Sherry is an experienced industry analyst.  Formerly Senior Vice President and one of the founding members of Semico Research Corp., Sherry also held management positions with In-Stat, Siemens, GTE, and Rogers corporations.  Sherry provided strategic and analytic assessment on the semiconductor and memory industries for various NATO countries as well as U.S. state-level economic development organizations that led to substantial economic investment and government commitments.  She advised Italian government officials, financial organizations specializing in European technology, the European press, and Politecnico di Milano university professors in Milan, Italy.  Sherry counseled industry organizations such as SEMI, Sematech and Albany NanoCollege regarding semiconductor trends, opportunities, risks and potential advantages of participating in the semiconductor industry.  Sherry aided a U.S. economic development organization and international investment firms in comprehending and presenting a case for investment.


Sherry has appeared in all the major electronics publications, financial publications such as Forbes and the Wall Street Journal and international publications including The Economist, ICFAI of India and Korean Financial Times.  Technical publications include IEEE Spectrum and Semiconductor International.  Copyrighted article and study topics include memory, memory capacity and manufacturing, battery trends, memory test trends and IC end-use applications.
